Carbon fibre UD non-crimp fabrics
The carbon fibres used here are arranged in one direction and are held together using a PES web (approx. 3 g/m²). This creates a smooth, even surface.
The UD non-crimp fabrics are wound with a PE separating foil, which can also be used for pre-impregnation.
They are available in widths from 5 to approx. 65 cm, both as standard HT carbon fibres and as HM carbon fibres for high stiffness requirements.
Advantages:
- high utilisation of the fibre properties, in particular a significantly higher compressive strength than woven fabrics
- high fibre content achievable
- no fabric texture imprint on the surface
- increased punching strength, any cut shape without disintegration or fraying
